Bridging together science, practice, and communication is what TNL PRO is all about - knitting together science and practice, to close the gap and help practitioners feel closer to research without feeling overwhelmed
How we learn about science in school can be hard because of the way it’s taught - it’s so often the weed out classes that cause people to hate science, but the skills that can be learned there and implemented later are left behind because people grow to dislike science...even though they're used so often when we are professionals.

Hey there, I'm Steph! I'm a nutrition researcher, PhD, and Registered Dietitian who is passionate about bringing science to real life along all levels of practice - from those of us interested in learning more about nutrition and research for ourselves, and those of us who work with people every day - both in how we interact with it and how we communicate it.
I've spent a lot of time on many ends of the research spectrum - from doing community based research, to working with cancer cells in a lab, to teaching at a university level, to becoming an RD, to now working in clinical trial research, I've seen what research (and science) looks like in many settings. I also know how hard it can be to connect the two together - as a scientist and a practitioner, sometimes it feels like I’m using many different parts of my brain, and they can feel a little rusty at times.
Prioritizing science communication (sci comm) is also a massive passion of mine, one that I've taken coursework in, organized conferences and founded clubs for, and educate about. Sci comm isn't just for scientists: nutrition and health professionals are incredible sources of sci comm for the people they work with!
The more we can connect science and practice together, the more we will get compassionate science and nuanced practice. It ultimately means that more professionals feel empowered to read science and communicate it, because they feel more connected to it than they may have in school (cause let's be honest, a lot of the times it didn't hit, or stick)
You don't have to have had a science background to join TNL PRO!
Pre-existing articles (50+) so that PROs can learn at their own pace and access the info whenever they want
A monthly topic focus, on a topic that is relevant to what PROs are interested in learning more about
A monthly meeting, usually a journal club, so you can apply what you’ve learned and see how a researcher explains or goes through a research article
A community of other PROs who are also there to learn and grow, to connect, and to build a reference community of people who they can network with or refer to
"Steph made it clear in TNL Pro that it’s a space to ask any questions and be very open. I appreciated that and it made it much easier to really learn — because I got to ask the questions I really wanted and needed to without feeling weird or bad since I don’t come from a science background." -Syndey S.
"It's helped me understand research better - the way you explain scientific concepts is really great and easy to understand!" -Neens
"I cannot recommend The Nutrition Lab Pro enough! I am a nutrition coach with no formal education in the world of science - Stephanie and The Nutrition Lab Pro helped me bridge that gap and make me a more confident coach in the large and sometimes confusing world of nutrition. The content within TNL PRO is worth so much and it's something that everyone could benefit from - not just health professionals" -Taylor
